Alvord Unified is supported by a strong educational community that includes parents, students, staff, local businesses, community members, including the Alvord Educational Foundation and the extremely active, dedicated Council PTA. Currently, there are fourteen elementary schools; four traditional middle schools; three comprehensive high schools, and two continuation high schools with an adult education program. Kindergarten through grade 5 is cared for at the elementary school level, grades 6-8 at the middle school level, and grades 9-12 at the high school level with support being provided to our students and community through four different service centers. The new school year has many exciting changes scheduled to continue providing excellent service to Alvord students and parents!
Alvord is constantly improving our curriculum as prescribed by State Standards. These programs help build a better education for all students, kindergarten through adult. The teachers in Alvord are trained in effective teaching techniques and on-going staff development programs play a major role in our efforts to build and maintain quality educational programs. Serving over 19,000 students creates a welcomed challenge for the exceptional individuals that are a part of the staff at Alvord. Our teachers, support staff, and administrators work closely with parents and the community to create an excellent learning environment.
Alvord Unified School District looks confidently toward the 2016-2017 school year as a time of continued growth, educational achievement, and academic excellence!
