AUSD maintains a state of the art Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from which any emergency may be managed. The EOC is responsible for strategic direction and operational decisions and to collect, gather and analyze data; make decisions that protect life and property, maintain continuity of the organization, within the scope of applicable laws; and disseminate those decisions to all concerned agencies and individuals.
From the EOC closed circuit cameras at schools may be viewed continously on two different screens. On another screen surrounding traffic patterns are monitored along with weather, air quality, and regional earthquakes.
Communications throughout the District can be made from here utilizing VHF and UHF analog frequencies, and UHF Digital radio. Through the use of a sophisticated Radio over IP (ROiP) system any two systems may be cross-linked which provides complete operational radio communications. This ROiP system also provides remote radio services for our responding partners from any smart device thus yeilding complete tactical and operational capabilities.
