Our AUSD K-12 Summer Academy begins on Monday, July 6. This online learning opportunity will be taught by our own AUSD teachers through Google Classroom, and is available to all students, no need to apply. We are offering both intervention and enrichment opportunities. Students may join the classrooms of their choice. Students will need to join the Google Classroom with their Alvord email.
What's the Summer Academy?
We are excited to offer our Summer Academy July 6- July 31 FROM 9 a.m. to noon M-Th for the first time! Summer Academy will serve students in grades K-12 to support learning loss and provide enrichment learning for all students. Summer Academy has open and equal access to all Alvord students and will be taught by our highly qualified, Alvord teachers. Learn more specific details about the summer program here.- Mathematics enrichment/preparation for all interested students K-12.
- English language arts enrichment/preparation for all interested students 6-12.
- Early literacy support for elementary-age students.
- Arts enrichment for elementary students
Does my student have to attend Summer Academy, everyday?
Students may attend Summer Academy classes, as desired. Attendance will not be taken and there is no credit offered for these courses.How can my student participate in the Summer Academy program?

When is summer school for credit recovery?
Session 1: June 1 - June 12, M-F from 7:30 AM- 1:00 PM.
Session 2: June 15 - June 26, M-F from 7:30 AM- 1:00 PM.The following Odysseyware courses are being offered for credit recovery:
- Health
- P.E.
- 10th Grade History
- 11th Grade History
- 12th Grade Gov't/Econ
- Electives (see counselor for options)
The following non-Odysseyware courses are offered for credit recovery utilizing a distance learning model created by teachers using Google Classroom, or another approved distance learning platform.- English language arts
- Math: IM1, IM2, IM3, Math Intervention for incoming 9th graders.
- Biology
- Chemistry
