COBRA is a federal program that allows employees and their dependents who lose their insurance coverage to continue that coverage for up to 36 months at the full cost of the plan, plus a 2% administrative fee. COBRA is the same coverage available to active employees, and deductibles and plan maximums do not reset upon COBRA enrollment.
Certificated and Management employees will receive information regarding COBRA, including the election form, from Alvord USD via mail. Classified employees will receive infomation regarding COBRA, including the election form, from SISC via mail. Individuals wishing to enroll in COBRA must return the election form and payment to the apprproate body by the deadline listed on their election form. Payment is required monthly and must be made via check.
