Musical or Poetic Perspectives
Task: Students will choose one pro-war and one anti-war song or poem in order to examine pro-war and anti-war perspectives and do the following:
1. Annotate each of the selections.
2. Complete a SOAPStone Graphic Organizer for Rhetorical Analysis for each selection.
3. Write a paragraph of eight (8) sentences (minimum-you may write more) for each selection, following Step Up to Writing Body Paragraph writing guidelines. In each paragraph, you must identify why the selection is either pro- or anti-war. You must also cite at least two (2) pieces of evidence from each selection to support your claims.
