    Cohort Assignments:

    • Please follow the steps below to locate your Cohort Assignment:
      1. Log into Aeries:  Click Here to access the Student Aeries.
      2. Click on "Student Info" tab on the left
      3. Click on "Demographics" and look for the "Cohort" box.

    Cohorts:

    • Cohort A: Monday & Wednesday: On-Campus In Person;   Tuesday & Thursday: Google Classroom/Distance at home
    • Cohort B: Tuesday & Thursday: On-Campus In Person;      Monday & Wednesday: Google Classroom/Distance at home
    • Cohort D: Monday through Friday: Google Classroom/Distance at home

     

    Attendance:

    • Hybrid Students can only attend Campus on their set “On-Campus” Cohort Days.
    • If a student is absent from “on-campus” learning on their Cohort Day, a parent/guardian must call-in the absence to the main office, even if the student attend school online.

    Drop Off Schedule:

    • To assist with Social Distancing, please do NOT drop-off your child before 8:00am.
      • Breakfast: Students eating breakfast will enter campus at 8:00am and proceed to the MPR for breakfast.
      • Non-Breakfast Students: Will enter campus between 8:10-8:30am.
      • Classes Begin at 8:30am.
    • 6th & 7th Grade Students will enter by the Main Office &      8th Grade Students will enter by the East Parking Lot

    • To assist with Social Distancing, we will have Staggered Release times:
      • Dismissal: 6th Grade: 2:11pm; 7th Grade: 2:13pm;      8th Grade: 2:15pm

     

    Items to Bring to School

    • Each day that your child is on-campus, please have them bring their District Issued Chromebook and Power cord, (no personal devices are allowed), a backpack, headphones/earbuds, books (teachers will notify you if books are needed on campus), Paper, Pens/Pencils, etc. (no sharing of supplies), and a Reusable Water Bottle.

     

    Masks & Temperature Checks:

    • All Students and Staff will have their temperature checked when entering campus and must wear masks at all times while on campus

    Daily Before School Home Screening

    • Parents, Click Here to view the daily home screening checklist to monitor your students at home each morning before they go to school.
      • If you child is feeling ill or has any of the symptoms on the checklist, please call the main office and do not have your child come to school on that day.

     

    Updated Meal Services Schedule

    • All AUSD Students can receive free Breakfast and Lunch.
    • Hybrid Students: Breakfast and Lunch items will be provided to Hybrid Students when they are On-Campus and a ‘Take Home’ Breakfast and Lunch bag will be provided to students once they leave campus for their At-Home Day. (Take-Home Meals will be provided at the West Exit Gate and the East Exit Gate)
    • Virtual Students Meal Pick-Up: Breakfast and Lunch Items can be picked up in the East Parking Lot
      • Monday-Thursday from 12:00-12:30pm
      • Fridays: from 7:30am-8:30am & 12:00-1:30pm (On Fridays, Parents can pick-up breakfast and lunch for the entire upcoming week

    Programa Híbrido – Reapertura de escuelas

    • Anoche, el Dr. Mucerino (superintendente de escuelas del Distrito Unificado Alvord) notificó a las familias que todas las escuelas de AUSD reabrirán para instrucción en persona para alumnos en el programa híbrido, a partir del lunes, 22 de marzo.

    Alumnos en el programa híbrido de Arizona: Primer día en el plantel:

    • Grupo A: Lunes, 22 de marzo a las 8:30a. m. en el plantel escolar (Aprendizaje a distancia en casa el 23 de marzo).
    • Grupo B: Martes, 23 de marzo a las 8:30a. m. en el plantel escolar (Aprendizaje a distancia en casa el 22 de marzo).

     

    Grupos:

    • Grupo A: lunes y miércoles: En persona en la escuela. Martes y jueves: Google Classroom/a distancia en casa.
    • Grupo B: martes y jueves: En persona en la escuela.  Lunes y miércoles: Google Classroom/a distancia en casa.
    • Grupo D: de lunes a viernes: Google Classroom/a distancia en casa.

     

    Asistencia escolar:

    • Los alumnos en el modelo híbrido únicamente pueden asistir a la escuela los días asignados para que su grupo asista.
    • Si un alumno falta al día asignado para que su grupo asista, el padre/tutor debe llamar a la oficina para verificar la ausencia, incluso si el alumno asiste de manera virtual.

    Horario de entrada:

    • Para ayudar con la distancia social, por favor NO traigan a sus hijos antes de las 8:00 a. m.
      • Desayuno: Los alumnos que desayunen en la escuela entrarán a las 8:00 a. m y se dirigirán al auditorio MPR.
      • Los alumnos que no desayunen en la escuela: Ingresarán al plantel de 8:10-8:30 a. m.
      • Las clases inician a las 8:30 a. m.
    • Los alumnos de 6to y 7mo grado entrarán por la oficina principal y los de 8vo grado por el estacionamiento en la zona este.

    Materiales que deben traer a la escuela

    • Por favor, todos los días que sus hijos(as) venga a la escuela deben traer su Chromebook y cable del mismo, asignado por el Distrito (no se permiten dispositivos personales), mochila, auriculares/audífonos, libros (los maestros les notificarán si necesitan traer libros a la escuela), papel, plumas/lápices, etc. (no compartir suministros) y botellas de agua reutilizables.

     

    Tapabocas y chequeo de temperatura:

    • A todos los alumnos y personal se les revisará la temperatura cuando entren al plantel y en todo momento que estén en la escuela deberán usar tapabocas.

    Chequeo diario en casa antes de ir a la escuela

    • Padres, Clic aquí para ver la lista de chequeo diario para monitorear a sus hijos en casa cada mañana antes de ir a la escuela.
      • Si su hijo(a) se siente enfermo o tiene alguno de los síntomas en la lista, favor de llamar a la oficina y no manden a sus hijos a la escuela ese día.

     

    Clases en el modelo híbrido: No habrá instrucción en vivo los días 17 y 18 de marzo

    • En preparación para la reapertura, no habrá instrucción en vivo el 17 y 18 de marzo para las clases en el modelo híbrido.
    • En su lugar, los maestros asignarán trabajo para que los alumnos lo completen por sí mismos y lo entreguen a través de Google Classroom.

     

    Programación actualizada para el servicio de alimentos

    • Todos los alumnos de AUSD pueden recibir gratuitamente desayuno y almuerzo.
    • Alumnos en el modelo híbrido: Se proporcionará desayuno y almuerzo a los estudiantes en el modelo híbridos cuando estén en el plantel y una bolsa de desayuno y almuerzo para llevar a casa cuando salgan de la escuela para su día de instrucción en casa. (Los alimentos para llevar a casa se proporcionarán en las puertas de salida oeste y este)
    • Recoger alimentos para alumnos en el modelo virtual: El desayuno y almuerzo pueden recogerse en el estacionamiento de la zona este.
      • Lunes-jueves de 12:00-12:30 p. m.
      • Viernes: de 7:30 a. m.-8:30 a. m. y 12:00-1:30 p. m. (Los viernes, los padres pueden recoger desayuno y almuerzo para toda la próxima semana.

    Summer Academy Survey

    • Alvord Unified School District and Arizona Middle School are excited to begin the planning process of a Summer Academy, which will begin the week after the 2020-2021 school year ends.
    • This Academy will be focused on providing targeted support and intervention to our students in the areas of Language Arts and Mathematics by our Alvord teachers and will include enrichment activities from our Expanded Learning Staff. Your survey answers do not obligate you to registration.

     

    Walsworth Yearbook Pictures: Due by Friday, Feb. 12th

      • Once you click on the link, you will be directed to the Walsworth Yearbook Landing Page.
      • You will type in your Student ID Number, and then you will use your webcam to take a picture to submit.

    Differences between Google Classroom & Aeries

    • Aeries shows:
      • Student Grades, Missing Assignments, and Test Scores.
      • Parents should NOT check Google Classroom for Student Grades and/or missing assignments.
      • Grades and Missing Assignments should be checked through Aeries.

    Attendance

    • Arizona Attendance Raffles: This Semester, we will have Attendance Raffles every 2 weeks, students that had perfect attendance during those 2 weeks will have their names entered into a drawing to receive prizes. There will be two winners per grade level every 2 weeks.
    • Friday Attendance Check-In:  Every Friday All Students Must Log-into ALL of their Google Classes (Anytime between 8:00-12:00pm) to complete a Friday Attendance Question/Assignments in order to be marked Present in Attendance.

    Welcome to Arizona Middle School, home of the Apaches.  I am thrilled that you have decided to view our school's website in order to learn more about the amazing things happening at Arizona Middle School!  As you view our website, please click on the links below to get updates and information for the 2020-2021 School Year.

    We are about to embark upon a new school year with great enthusiasm and anticipation of new opportunities that will enhance our instructional program and school community as a whole.  We are a community that believes in high expectations and equitable learning opportunities for all. Additionally, our Apache community works together to create a learning environment that has high expectations, promotes students' academic and social development, teaches responsibility and pride, and supports our students in developing their abilities to be lifelong learners.
