Wells Middle School

  • At Wells, we are committed to creating an outstanding academic and cultural experience for each child on our campus. We are proud of our school and the great efforts we go to in order for our students to meet the mission of the Alvord Unified School District – “All students will realize their unlimited potential.”

Wells Middle School has served the families of the Arlanza neighborhood of Riverside, California since it opened in February of 1962.  It is the oldest middle school in the Alvord Unified School District.  Wells Middle School currently serves approximately 815 students.

Wells Middle School provides a warm, stimulating environment where students are actively involved in their belonging, learning, and aspirations. Students receive a standards-based, challenging curriculum by dedicated staff members. Interventions are provided based on the individual needs of each student. We are committed to ongoing evaluation of our programs and their effectiveness, and use multiple forms of data to help us refine our instructional program so students can achieve academic proficiency. Academic awards and positive incentives for attendance and citizenship promote a caring climate that enhances student learning.

The staff, students and families of Wells Middle School are committed to creating an environment of academic excellence. We take pride in our school and its rich history. We hope you will join us in our endeavor to provide outstanding experiences for all of our students as we prepare them for their futures and inspire them to be lifelong learners. We are excited about our school and welcome your support.
