Hello, Norte Vista students and families!
As always, I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits, and, of course, being Brave!
To begin, let me continue to emphasize our "10 Things that require zero talent", which are posted on the banner below, as well as in every classroom on campus, and next year in our hallways. These characteristics are actually industry "soft skills", as well as the foundation of everything we are trying to instill in every student that enrolls at Novi! High school is not just about earning 220 credits towards graduation, but really about practicing for life, and we know practice makes perfect! With that in mind, whether your son or daughter goes on to be a doctor, peace officer, business owner, military personnel, teacher, or community leader, these 10 things that require zero talent will not only help them find success but more importantly help them be a great individual.
Next, we are down to the final two weeks of this school year. Please check your AERIES portal frequently to verify grades, assignments are turned in, and assignment due dates. Please communicate with teachers, either by phone call or email, to ensure your student is doing everything necessary to pass each class, and you are doing everything necessary to ensure your student's success. In addition, if your student is in danger of failing a class, I would suggest enrolling your student in summer school, to recover missed credits. To do this, email or call your student's counselor. There may still be room in certain courses.
Third, our Senior Class of 2023 will be graduating on May 24, 2023!! This is an exciting time of the year, but please do not forget, we still have seniors that must still complete credit recovery courses to guarantee they walk on graduation day. Those seniors that are in danger of not graduating will be contacted by their counselor before May 17, 2023. If you receive a call stating that your senior will not be graduating, please contact your student's counselor and administration immediately to determine options.
Finally, thank you for your continued support of the Norte Vista High School cell phone policy, food delivery policy, dress code policy, and new tardy policy. These policies and other site or district policies help maintain high expectations and the safest learning environment possible, free of disruptions and distractions. We thank you for your cooperation and support in addressing these policies, and ensuring academic achievement remains a top priority not just on campus, but throughout our entire community!
