Alvord students design robots for National Robotics Week showcase
Alvord students showcased their robotics projects as part of the Ninth Annual National Robotics Week on Wed., April 11. This event was part of the National Robotics Week: a week that raises awareness about the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and how these subjects play a role in shaping the future of education, industry and the U.S. economy.
To supplement its commitment to STEM Education during the day, Alvord USD also spearheads opportunities for STEM exploration as part of their after-school programs. In partnership with Creative Brain Learning, Alvord USD provides robotics engineering classes as part of the Expanded Learning programs (formerly known as After-School Programs).Blue Brain Bot, a Riverside-based company, and division of Creative Brain Learning, has developed the LEGO-compatible and programmable educational robotic kits that students are working with.
“Our partnership with Expanded Learning and Creative Brain continues to propel our legacy of excellence as we prepare students for 21st Century opportunities,” says Dr. Jason Jones.
