What is the English Learner Advisory Committee? The English Learner Advisory Committee is a school-level committee comprised of parents, staff, and community members designated to advise school officials on English learner programs and services. Who are the English Learner Advisory Committee Members? The council consists of 5 members. At least 2 of the members MUST be parents of English Learners. How long do parent members serve on the English Learner Advisory Committee? Parent members serve a one-year term. How often does the English Learner Advisory Committee meet? The English Learner Advisory Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Meetings are currently scheduled for 8/23/23, 9/6/23, 10/4/22, 12/6/23, 1/3/24, 2/7/24, 3/6/24, 4/3/24, 5/1/24 How is the English Learner Advisory Committee selected? Membership on ELAC is by election. Parents are selected by their peers using an election by ballot process. Parent ballots will be sent out by 8/17/23.
