Director, Elementary School Leadership

Welcome to our district's elementary schools! I am Dr. Michelle Pierce, and it is my privilege to serve as the Director of Elementary School Leadership. With a deep-rooted passion for education, I have dedicated over 25 years to fostering growth and excellence in students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade.

My educational journey began at La Sierra University, where I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. These experiences laid the groundwork for my passion for innovative teaching and learning. I furthered my expertise by earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, focusing on supporting leaders in fostering inclusive and relevant learning environments for all students.

Throughout my career, I have held various roles, including classroom teacher, reading coach, teacher on special assignment, and site administrator. Each position has provided me with invaluable insights into the diverse needs of our students and the strategies that best support their growth.

One of my core passions is literacy, particularly the development of early reading and writing skills. I believe that a strong foundation in literacy is essential for unlocking a world of opportunities for our students. My commitment to literacy is evident in our schools' emphasis on cultivating proficient and confident readers and writers from a young age.

As the Director of Elementary School Leadership, I am dedicated to ensuring that our schools offer a nurturing and challenging environment for every student. Working alongside our talented educators and staff, I am committed to guiding our students on their educational journey, equipping them for success in their academic endeavors and beyond.
