Shared Responsibility- How Can Parents Help?

Students, staff, and parents/guardians all have an important role in promoting school safety by following procedures and reporting concerns.  Communication is vital.  We encourage you to have open convesrations with your child regarding social media postings and report any concerning social media posts or any pertinent information your child shares with you regarding school safety.  Please feel free to contact us with any concerns.

 

How Can Parents Help?

  • Follow parking, visitor, and other safety procedures while on campus
  • Support your school’s safety initiatives
  • Talk with your child about personal safety considerations, drug, and violence prevention issues
  • Monitor social media trends and your child’s social media activity
  • Famliarize yourself with school drop-off and pick-up practices and always follow them
  • Teach your child to use marked crosswalks – walk, never run
  • Teach your child if the “See Something, Say Something”
